If you miss being an ADHA member, I would eangurcoe you to give ADHA another look. Being a member in ADHA is about more than just keeping up to date on your continuing education requirements. It’s about supporting and advancing your profession and unleashing your potential as a dental hygienist and you can't put a price on the networking. Lately, ADHA has been using the marketing tagline: Better Together. This concept is important especially in light of some of the changes that we are seeing in the dental hygiene profession. In many areas dental hygienists are reporting difficulties finding employment because of a saturated market. ADHA is working to address these issues and advocate for additional new work settings where dental hygienists can practice…creating new jobs. Also, ADHA is not fighting dentistry, they’re advocating for dental hygienists. In fact, since 2006 there has been a goal in the strategic plan that reads: “ADHA and its members will work in partnership with dentists and other stakeholders to advance oral health.” If it’s been a while since you’ve been involved, I would urge you to take another look. I think you will find the changes impressive and I will say as a long time member, you've been missed.
