My AC went out naturally over the weekend and i put in a call to HWA (Home Warranty of America). The first company told me they could not get to me till Thursday or Friday so i called HWA back and they found me a repairman who came out that day, a Monday, before noon. He was from Comfort Tech in New Orleans and he was very professional. He took his time and put in more freon and explained what would happen or could happen if that was not the cause. In a few days, the AC stopped cooling again and another Tech came out on a SUNDAY NIGHT. Josh looked around and noticed that the walls in the air return were not finished. i paid a lot for a home inspection and my home inspector did not even see this. Josn made reccommendations which i took care of but that did not do the trick either... but it was something that definitely needed to be taken care of. After about a week and some cooler weather, it started heating up and the AC was not cooling. i called HWA again and they were very courteous taking the claim. They asswered every question and treated me very patiently and were very courteous like i was thier only call all night. They called Comfort Tech back out and Josh came out and you could tell he was bound and determinded to find out the problem. He even said that this is what makes him go, something that stumps him - you could tell he was bound and determined to find the issue and get it straightened out. Josh did find the problem and i hate to say it but it was the baggie with the owners mamual and instructions in it that was inside the evaporator coil up in the attic. i just bought the house but i was embarrased to say the least. Josh and Gerard were both very professional, courteous and took the time to communicate what they were doing. Cassidy, the receptionist was also very good in keeping me informed as to what time the Techs would arrive at my house so i would not be there wasting my time. HWA impressed me with this entire claim. My claim Rep was very patient in taking my claim, she explained everything and how it would all play out. Each time i called (3 times for the AC) the claim reps were very patient and spoke to me like i was thier only call that night or morning. i used HWA about 2 years ago on another property and they did an excellent job then too. That was an electrical problem when a capacity burned up. They handled the call in good time and the tech was on time and very good. i would reccommend HWA and Comfot Tech to anyone.

The date for next year is Sunday 8th September 2013. We reintroduced the race this year after a year’s break and 37 teams took part. In 2013 we are seeking to get more clubs involved and I am aiming to achieve an entry of 50 teams, so I would be delighted if you can enter a team in 2013.
